The North Carolina branch of our MARYLAND GROUP began with a William Willis Sr 1717-1782 who left Dorchester County,  Maryland at some point after the 1730s.  He was in property records of 1764 Mecklenburg County,  North Carolina,  in an area that later became Tryon (1769),  Rutherford (1779) and then Cleveland County (1842).   Members of our North Carolina Branch are descendants of William Sr b 1717.
