The Alabama branch of our MARYLAND GROUP began with a Jarvis Willis 1758-1850 who left Dorchester County,  Maryland at some point in the 1780s.  He was in the 1790, 1800 census of Stokes County,  North Carolina.  In 1820 he's in Warren County,  Tennessee.   Then,  in 1840, 1850 in Lawrence County,  Alabama.   Members of our Alabama Branch are descendants of Jarvis.

Note A -  There is something strange going on with ties into a Willis group in Missouri.  Vern has DNA matches to AmberMcMillan and LloydGeorgeWillis.  The three of them share DNA segments,  also with KennieYoung, KennethMarrow, PatriciaWalls too.  The only surname overlaps these folks have are on Willis. But,  that Missouri group goes to a Jacob Willis 1775-1864,  born in Ireland,  migrated to Tennessee,  then Union, Ill ... by way of Missouri.  There is no Y-group to explain this Jacob Willis.  I have access to DNA results of LloydGeorgeWillis.  There is a DNA Circle around this Jacob.  Is he somehow of THE MARYLAND GROUP?  Find a Willis male of this lineage to do a Y-test.
