1800s Willis Females of Dorchester County, Md

Ancestry user Jahensor is an autosomal DNA match to a large number of other Ancestry users who have Willis lineage of our Maryland Group,  including to some members of our Y group.   She has three Willis females in her tree,  only two of whom are attached to a father.   So,  we are unsure how it is that her lineage traces back to John 1667-1712.  This post makes an attempt to see if we can narrow down the possible paths back to John.

The three females in her tree include:
  1. Julia Willis 1815-1901 m. Charles Breerwood 1813-1848 (born Dorchester Co,  Md)
  2. Caroline Willis 1808-1860 m. Thomas Coursey 1808-1890 (born Dorchester Co, Md)
  3. Rhoda Willis 1766-unk m. Thomas Rumbley 1760-unk (born Talbot Co,  Md)
We can set Rhoda Willis aside. She is the daughter of Andrew Willis 1750-1796 married to Sarah Pritchett 1750-1830.  There is uncertainty as to whether this Andrew Willis is of our Maryland Group,  or a descendant of the Thomas N Willis Group,  or Wiltshire Group within the Willis Y-DNA project.   I am making an effort to find a suitable Y-DNA candidate who could solve this mystery.   It will not be possible to draw a conclusion about Rhoda's group membership in this post,  given that there are multiple Willis ancestors in Jahensor's tree.

Both Julia and Caroline were born within years of each other,  and appear to be born in Dorchester County in the 1800 to 1820 range.   So,  it would be helpful to review the census records of all the Willis males in the 1790-1850 households of Dorchester County (CLICK HERE),  their approximate ages,  and whether they have infant females in their households.

WORK IN PROGRESS .....
